Chocolate Chip Cookie Surprise Cake

Ingredients

Cake

• 1 box Betty Crocker SuperMoist yellow cake mix
• 1 cup milk
• 1/2 cup melted butter
• 3 eggs

Cookie layer

• 1 pouch Betty Crocker chocolate chip cookie mix
• 1/2 cup butter, softened
• 1 egg
• 1 container Betty Crocker Rich & Creamy chocolate frosting

Directions

1. Heat oven to 350°F. Generously grease the bottom of a 9x13” pan and lightly flour.
2. In a large bowl, beat the cake mix, milk, melted butter, and eggs on low speed for 30 seconds, then on medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour into the pan.
3. Make the cookie mix as directed on the package, using the softened butter and egg. Drop the dough by teaspoonfuls evenly over the batter in the pan.
4. Bake 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Run a knife around the edge of the pan to loosen. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
5. Frost the top of the cake. Store loosely covered at room temperature.
