Ingredients

  • 40 salted saltine crackers
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (peanuts or your choice)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Line a large jelly roll pan (about 15x10”) with foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Lay the saltine crackers evenly on the pan, close together.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Bring to a boil and let boil for 3 minutes without stirring. Pour the hot mixture evenly over the crackers.
  4. Bake for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the toffee. Let melt for a couple of minutes, then spread evenly with a spatula.
  6. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top of the melted chocolate. Let cool completely (refrigerate to speed this up), then break into bite-size pieces.

Notes

Store in an air-tight container for 1-2 weeks, or freeze for a couple of months.
