Ingredients
- 40 salted saltine crackers
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (peanuts or your choice)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Line a large jelly roll pan (about 15x10”) with foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Lay the saltine crackers evenly on the pan, close together.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Bring to a boil and let boil for 3 minutes without stirring. Pour the hot mixture evenly over the crackers.
- Bake for 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the toffee. Let melt for a couple of minutes, then spread evenly with a spatula.
- Sprinkle chopped nuts on top of the melted chocolate. Let cool completely (refrigerate to speed this up), then break into bite-size pieces.
